After months of plotting and planning, we're now only a couple of hours away from the start of our adventure. As with any big event, there's been a lot of running around over the past few days making final arrangements and seeing just how much we can squeeze into a few bags. So it's good to have handed our bikes and back pack over to the airline and to now just sit and catch up on a few last minute calls and emails before we board.
We are filled with mixed emotions, particularly Nicky who has lived in Australia for 9 years. We feel great excitement for what lies ahead, but sad to be saying farewell to the wonderful people we've met during our time here. It's funny how we seem to see so much with fresh eyes and a greater appreciation just as we are about to move on. We certainly feel very lucky to have lived so well in this beautiful country.
Thank you to everyone who has inspired, supported and encouraged us along the way, particularly in the last couple of months as our ideas for this trip became a reality.
Well, almost time to board and time to begin a new chapter. In the words of Winston Churchill...
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
